Event Floorplan Designer Version 2 is due to be released later this year, here are some of the features you can expect (more to come!):

A new licencing system is being introduced to eliminate the need for a hardware dongle. This will come as a relief to some users who always forget to take the dongle with them when they need to use the software on another computer.

Automatic image export and upload has now been added. This will allow you to use custom size thumbnail previews on your show website, eliminating the need for a web designer to upload one manually every time the floorplan is updated.

For those of you who need to import DWG files from other sources (such as ExpoCAD), you now have the ability to convert all of the stand outlines, numbers and company names to intelligent stands automatically within a few seconds.

We’ve made an improvement to copying and pasting stands from one drawing to another which now copies all of the data attached to a stand such as the stand number, name and colouring.

It is now possible to manage the list of company names stored within the floorplan. You can add, rename, delete, purge unwanted and import new names all from one place.

You can now make certain parts of the venue drawing intelligent, such as service ducts, pillars, keep clear areas, low height areas etc. This means that the user is notified of any stands not on service ducts or in keep clear areas, it also means that the pillar size can automatically be taken away from the stand size. This feature is a huge step forward in eliminating user error on floorplans and allow the user to create plans that meet the requirements of the venue with ease.

Spreadsheets can now be created without the need of Microsoft’s Excel being installed on the PC, meaning that Event Floorplan Designer can now be used without relying on any other software being installed.
